A couple of weeks ago I visited the President John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. It is a beautiful library that site directly on the coastline of Boston Harbor. It also is make almost entirely of windows, so on a Sunny day it gets lots of natural light.
The library’s permanent and temporary exhibitions offer a captivating journey through JFK’s life, highlighting his achievements, challenges, and the indelible mark he left on American history. Interactive displays engage visitors of all ages, allowing them to explore pivotal moments such as the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Civil Rights Movement, and the race to the moon.
Here are 4 things you should see in the library:
John K. Kennedy’s replica campaign office for his 1960 Presidential campaign. They created the way the office looked during his campaign that was based out of Boston. It gives you a view of his office and the type of technology they had running the campaign.
The replica of JKF’s Oval Office. There is a full scale replica of the Oval Office during President Kennedy’s term. The furniture is exactly like it was during his Presidential years before he was shot.
The Office of Robert Kennedy at the Justice department. They have a replica of RFK’s office while Attorney General that has his original papers and other desk items encased in glass.
JFKs crutches: JFK had many health issues during his short life. One of them was constant back trouble. He would often be on crutches for extended periods of time. Those crutches are on display in the museum.
