The term conspiracy theorist has gotten such a negative connotation that many people stop listening to you as soon as you get designated as one. With social media spreading theories that have no basis in fact, along with a large segment of the population believing everything they see on the internet, it is no wonder why people do not trust anyone that seems to go against the main narrative.
However, there is a lot of evidence that Kennedy was killed by a grander conspiracy than just some Russian loving, socially awkward, loner as the Warren Commission stated. There were subsequent committee investigations that pointed the flaws in that theory out.
I am going to lay some of those flaws out in this blog. I am not going to 100% expel the narrative of the Warren Commission, but show that Lee Harvey Oswald had mafia connections as did Jack Ruby.
On November 21st, 1963, President John F. Kennedy spent his final night alive at the Hilton hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. At the time, Texas was more favorable territory for Democrats than it is in present day, but it was making a slow transition to the Republicans, so Kennedy felt the need to make a visit to the state as the 1964 election was the next year.
President Kennedy woke up on that clear morning and jumped into his waiting car, with an open top, ready to make the rounds through Dallas in a giant motorcade. Little did he know, he would be shot by noon that day. The President would be dead 30 minutes later and it would shock the world, but major evidence supports the notion that Lee Harvey Oswald murdered Kennedy from the 6th floor of the book depository facing Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. However, Oswald may have been part of a major plot to kill the President.
The Warren Commission issued a report that Lee Harvey acted alone and his murderer, Jack Ruby, acted alone. They worked hard to alleviate any belief that a conspiracy happened that murdered an American President, which was the first assassination since President William McKinley in 1901, but there is much more to this story.
John and Robert Kennedy ruthlessly attacked mafia bosses during Senate hearings in the 1950s. Robert was lead counsel during the investigations, and his brother was a sitting senator. One of the men grilled by Kennedy was head of the powerful Louisiana mob, named Carlos Marcello.
Attorney General Robert Kennedy had Carlos Marcello kidnapped and deported
This extended to Robert Kennedy’s time as Attorney General when he had Marcello kidnapped and shipped to Guatemala in 1961. Marcello was an illegal immigrant from Italy and had been living in America as an illegal for most of his adult life, so Robert forcibly removed him. Marcello was dropped off in the jungle and basically left for dead. He would survive and was back in New Orleans two months later and furious at the Kennedys.
Marcello vowed to kill President Kennedy and figured it would take the power out from his brother, Robert Kennedy. Because Robert got most of his power by being the brother of the President of the United States. By the 1960s, Marcello was one of the most powerful mob bosses in the country, right behind the Gambino crime family in New York.
Oswald’s ties to Carlos Marcello
Lee Harvey Oswald’s uncle, who he had been living with in New Orleans in the months leading up to the Kennedy killing, was a man named Charles Murret, but was nicknamed Dutz. In the Warren Commission’s report they claimed Dutz was a steamship clerk and nothing more, but the 1979 House Select Committee on Assassinations claimed that he was an illegal bookmaker, who was also an associate in the Louisiana mafia under Carlos Marcello.
Dutz’s Captain in the mafia was Sam Saia, who was really close friends with Marcello. There is also evidence that Oswald became a runner for Marcello.
Carlos Marcello himself is quoted as saying: “Oswald? I used to know his {expletive} family. His uncle he work for me. The kid work for me to. He worked for Sam outta his place downtown … The feds came … askin’ about him, but my people didn’t tell ’em nothin’. Like we never heard of the guy … .”
If that quote is accurate, it provides a direct link to Marcello. This quote is from federal investigator Joseph Houser, who claims Marcello said this during questioning.
The 1979 committee also discovered that Oswald, whose father died before he was born, looked to his uncle as a father figure. He was also financially supported by Murrett for a period of time that went up to near the time of the assassination. Oswald moved to Dallas on October 2nd, 1963, just over a month before he killed Kennedy. He also had just gotten hired in that book depository that Kennedy was shot from.
Oswald working in the same building as two avowed anti-Communists that also had ties to Marcello
For a time in New Orleans, Lee Harvey Oswald worked in the same building as two avowed anti-Communists, Guy Bannister and Hugh Ward. This was the time when Oswald created the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, where he was the only member. Bannister was a militant anti-Communist that really hated Kennedy. Bannister was also a private investigator working for mob boss, Carlos Marcello.
Bannister’s mistress would later testify that he asked Oswald to create a cover organization called Fair Play for Cuba, meaning Oswald’s pro-Communist sympathies were most likely fake. That story is also supported by her daughter.
At this time, it has been discovered that Oswald resumed his friendship with one of Carlos Marcello’s attorneys, David Ferrie, who knew Oswald from their time serving in the same unit as Ferrie during their military service in the 1950s. There is a photograph of them at a barbecue together.
David Ferrie would die a mysterious death shortly after the assassination as would Guy Bannister, who died in 1964 and was accused by New Orleans District Attorney, at the time, of being part of the assassination.
Lee Harvey Oswald has numerous associates that were anti-Communist and worked directly for Carlos Marcello, which puts holes in the theory that Oswald was a staunch Communist. They hated Kennedy and could have pushed a socially awkward and insecure Oswald to commit the murder, especially when they found out he was working at a building on Kennedy’s motorcade route.
The deaths Rose Cheramie and Tom Howard had links to the mafia and Jack Ruby.
Two days after Oswald assassinated Kennedy, he was shot by Jack Ruby in the basement of the Dallas police station. The Warren Report, again, laid the blame on Ruby acting alone and claimed no mafia connections. The media even went with Ruby’s attorney, Tom Howard, who would be another one to die of mysterious causes March 27th, 1965 at only 48-years old, that said Ruby only killed Oswald to save Jackie Kennedy from a trial of her husband. That claim does not fit the smell test.
On November 20th, 1963, Rose Cheramie was discovered unconscious on the side of the road in Eunice, Louisiana. She was taken to the hospital by police. During the drive, she claimed she was tossed out of the moving car by two gangsters that worked for Jack Ruby. She claimed the men were involved in a “plot to kill John F. Kennedy.” She also said “Kennedy would be killed in Dallas within a few days.” The police claimed she was under the influence of drugs and not to be trusted as a reliable witness.
Cheramie was found dead on September 4th,1965 and appears to have been purposely run over by a car, which is another in the long list of mysterious deaths of people who may have been associated with the Kennedy assassination.
Jack Ruby’s mafia connections
Jack Ruby had mafia connections that traced mainly to what is known as the Chicago Outfit, which was the organization once run by Al Capone. It had become as powerful as the New York Mafia and ran gambling and drug operations across America. Ruby was born and raised in Chicago and worked for many unions that were managed by the Chicago Outfit.
He moved from Chicago to Dallas with other gangsters to run the prostitution business in Dallas. However, the southern part of the United States was Carlos Marcello’s territory and he was not going to let Jack Ruby and the Chicago Outfit takeover his territory.
Jack Ruby would end up becoming an associate under Marcello’s Louisiana based crime family in order to do business in Dallas. This is more evidence that the Warren Commission ignored even though there is tons of evidence linking Ruby to Carlos Marcello.
The FBI later investigated Marcello for organizing the hit on Kennedy, later claiming they “did not believe Carlos was a significant organized crime figure,” even though he ran one of the most powerful crime families in America at the time.
The links Ruby had to two major crime families means he was involved with them and had a motive to want to silence Oswald if they were involved in the murder of Kennedy.
There is evidence that Oswald may have been working for the CIA, which adds to a lot of conspiracy theories that it was the CIA or FBI that had Kennedy killed. Those theories really started to take off in the 1990s. During my research, I noticed that most theories in the 70s and 80s pointed it at the mob, but in the 90s something changed and the mafia got a pass as many Americans blamed the U.S. government.
Surely, there may have been payoffs to government officials to keep it quiet in the 1960s, but there are so many mafia connections and weird deaths that the mob could have pulled it off better than the huge government apparatus, which that is prone to leaks.
People fear the mafia much more and would have likely not wanted to cross the mob that would have you killed in a heartbeat as they probably did in the 60s with many witnesses that mysteriously died.
I believe the mafia led by Carlos Marcello, who did claim before death of orchestrating Kennedy’s murder, killed Kennedy. The only thing hard to find is how Oswald would have been persuaded to do it knowing normal life would be over for him.
People mysteriously found dead after the Kennedy assassination:
Charles “dutz” Murret: He died in 1964, shortly after testifying for the Warren Commission. All that is listed regarding his death is it was a brief illness that killed him.
Tom Howard: Jack Ruby’s first lawyer died in 1965 at 48yrs old
Dorothy Kilgallen: A journalist who was investigating the Kennedy assassination who was on a trail that led her to New Orleans. She had publicly voiced criticism of the Warren Report. She died November 8th, 1965 supposedly from alcohol and barbiturates.
David Ferrie: Oswald served in the same military unit as him. He was an attorney for Carlos Marcello and had CIA connections when he was a pilot for them. He was immediately investigated and many believed he was involved. He was found dead in his apartment February 22nd, 1967 days after a story broke linking him to the assassination.
Guy Banister: Died June 6, 1964 at 63yrs old. Was an anti-Communist and private investigator working for Carlos Marcello. He worked in the same building as Oswald in New Orleans. He reportedly was getting yelled at by his partner Jack Martin who claimed that he would kill him like he did Kennedy.
U.S Senator Hale Boggs: Died in a plane crash in 1972. He as the U.S. House representative from New Orleans. Boggs had been on the Warren Commission, but later recanted its conclusion saying Oswald was the lone gunman. He would disappear shortly after. The plane’s wreckage and Boggs body were never found.
Lee Bowers: died at age 41 in 1966. He claimed flashy light came from the grassy knoll near Dealey Plaza and thought Oswald did not act alone. He died in a single car crash. The attending physician claimed he seems to be in a trance.
Dr. Nicholas Chetta: died in 1968 at 50yrs old. He was one of the coroners in New Orleans that performed the autopsy on David Ferrie. He died mysteriously as did his brother-in-law, who was murdered with a handgun in 1969.
Earlene Roberts: Died January 9th, 1966 at 60yrs old. She was the housekeeper in the rooming house lived in Dallas. She testified that Oswald had stopped there between the time Kennedy and Officer Tippet were killed, which would mean Oswald had no time to commit the murders. She would die of a heart attack.
Bill Hunter: Died April 23rd, 1964. He was a reporter investigation the death of Kennedy. He was shot by a police officer that was supposedly playing with his gun and it went off accidently.
Rose Cheramie: was found dead on September 4th,1965 after getting ran over by a car. She always claimed that she knew Jack Ruby and Oswald and that Kennedy would be killed days before the assassination.
Many of these people have links to New Orleans and directly for Carlos Marcello. Most of the media, other than a period between 1975-1990, point this to some right wing conspiracy led by the CIA and anti-Communists. There is some evidence that the CIA knew more, but I highly doubt everyone involved could keep that a secret.
